LWV-Acton Area

Welcome

The LWV-Acton Area is a non-partisan, grassroots organization in Massachusetts that supports and opposes issues, but not candidates or political parties. Our charter is to protect voters, educate and engage voters, reform money in politics and defend the environment.

The League is open to women and men over the age of 16 who want to make democracy work. The League works at national, state and local levels to influence policy through civic education and advocacy.

News

Thank You

Thank you to every Voter who made their voice heard on this election day!

Many thanks to the town clerks and their staff, the poll workers and wardens who started before dawn and stayed well after the polls closed, and the police and public works staff who kept polling places safe and running.

Voting Rights Matter

The right to vote is one of the most basic promises of our democracy. In a democratic government, every person is considered equal and is empowered to both participate in their government and speak on the issues that impact their daily lives. Through our votes, we’re able to express our values around concerns like health care, climate change, criminal justice, taxes, and so much more.
