Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is the governing body of the Acton-Area League of Women Voters (Acton, Boxborough, Hudson, Littleton, Maynard and Stow). It is the administrative and policy making team for the League. It meets monthly and consists of an Executive Committee and Directors elected annually. The committee plans and directs the work necessary to carry out the program as adopted at the local Annual Meeting of LWV-AA and by the League of Women Voters National and State Conventions.

Voter Service

Voting is such an important part of our mission we put it in our name. The League slogan, "Democracy is not a spectator sport," rings true when it comes to the Voter Service group. The League of Women Voters engages millions of voters nationally every year ensuring Americans have the information they need to participate in elections that determine our future. We see voting as a right and a responsibility of citizens in a democracy. We are all equal at the ballot box, but only if we vote.

The Acton-Area League of Women Voters empowers voters with comprehensive information about voting. We are a busy bunch. Here’s a partial list of our responsibilities in the League:

Members interested in helping the League with anything related to voting should contact the Voter Service Chair Pat Clifford.

Book Group

We have lively discussions about nonfiction books dealing with a wide range of topics. Book titles are suggested by the group members and then voted on. The book group meets monthly, and for the foreseeable future they will be conducted via Zoom. All are welcome whether you have read the book or not. For further information contact Book Group Chair Pam Lynn.

Upcoming books

The dates and time for the discussions will be posted on the LWV-Acton Area Weekly Update.
